In the human body, the skin is the largest organ. It protects the whole body from infections. Skin infection is a condition of the skin caused by certain bacteria, viruses, or fungi. It changes the normal texture of the skin, sometimes infecting the deep tissues underneath it and causing acne breakouts, rashes, redness, and other bad conditions. These skin infections are caused by bacteria and they usually pop up as red, small bumps that increase in size with time. Bacterial skin infections include:

  4. Cellulitis
  • Viral Skin Infections

By the name, it is confirmed that they are caused by viruses. Viral skin infections vary from severe to serious conditions. Viral infections include:

  6. Hand, Foot, and Mouth Diseases
  • Fungal Skin Infections

There are two types of antibiotics for skin infection. The common antibiotics for skin infections are Topical antibiotics and Oral antibiotics.

Topical antibiotics are the antibiotics that are applied over the skin. They can be in the form of creams, lotions, ointments, or sprays.

On the other hand oral antibiotics are in the form lf tablets or syrup.

The most common skin infection is cellulitis. Everyone may develop this infection. People who are more likely to develop this infection may:

  • Have cuts on the skin, broken skin, bites, etc.
  • Take drugs
  • Have tattoos and piercings
  • Have shingles and measles
  • Already have severe skin conditions like eczema
  • Obese people or overweight
  • Facing diabetes
  • Have undergone plastic surgery
  • Have a weakened immune system
  • Be facing bed sores
  • Have poor blood circulation
  • Have severe edema

Cellulitis infected people may face symptoms like

  • red skin
  • skin that might get hot
  • swollen
  • blisters on the skin
  • tenderness.

  • Tablets antibiotics
  • Injections in Veins or Muscles
